Shop Stewards Come Together to Strengthen Grievance Handling Skills

The Shop Stewards’ Workshop on May 3rd was a great success!

47 shop stewards representing retail, manufacturing and hotel members participated.

The workshop focused on developing skills that stewards need to win contract grievances. For example, stewards practiced investigating potential grievances, gathering written documentation, and preparing for meetings with employers.

Shop stewards from the following 24 union shops were in attendance: Ardwyn, Hospi-tel, Amco, Gary Plastic, Lombardi, Catalina, Passamenterie, Eneslow Shoes, Barney’s Distribution Center, Martin Greenfield, Bruno & Canio, Saks, Sheraton Meadowlands, Wyndham Newark, Westin Morristown, Sheraton Edison, Hilton Short Hills, Spa Chakra, Hilton Hasbrouck Heights, Crowne Plaza Secaucus, Hilton Newark, Duane Reade, Brooks Brothers, and Rainbow!
