Members Participate in New Jersey Political Walks

In October and early November, 2007, sixty UNITE HERE members came out to support political candidates who are fighting for good union jobs in Newark and Sayreville, NJ. We went door to door to get out the vote for our candidates, building our political power in New Jersey and demonstrating that NY NJ Regional Joint Board members are important allies.

-We supported Tom Pollando, who unfortunately lost the Sayreville Mayor’s race.

-We supported Thomas Giblin, who won an Assembly seat for the 34th District.

-We supported Teresa Ruiz, who won a NJ State Senate seat for the 29th District, becoming the first Latina elected to the NJ Senate!
