The New York New Jersey Regional Joint Board- UNITE HERE represents numerous Hotels and Restaurants in New Jersey and New York, through Local 96. Some of the properties under representation are (to name a few) Hilton Hotel, Crowne Plaza, Starlite Restaurant, Sheraton, Westin and many more. Our objective is to bring democracy and social justice to the workers in the hotel and restaurant industry. It’s a fact—those that are members of Unions make better wages, have better benefits, and absolutely have more rights, then those that are not in the Union. Our pledge is simple: To fight for and to win the greatest contracts and standards in the industry!

On Friday, March 28th, 2008, a strong group of leaders at the Heldrich Center in New Brunswick delivered a petition to their company's Vice President, demanding respect for their right to organize a union and an end to increased surveillance and intimidation targeted towards union activists.
